Having a website is similar to having your brick-and-mortar business except at a much lower cost. Majority of the cost goes to the size of your hosting and design. Your website will need a host – a server to store your data, images, informations. As for the design, a standard template will cost less compared to a specially designed website. This depends on the business owner whether you have the budget and your business needs.
Think of website (online business) like your physical shop lot (offline business). When you open a business, you will need to find a location for an office. You will have to renovate it nicely so that your customer will like your shop. If you are lower on budget, your renovation might be minimal. Same goes for an online website, if your business requires a very nice design and you have the budget, then you can go for the premium package. You can get unique customized website.
For those with less budget (<RM4000), the advice is to go for simple template designed web sites. Our company do provide you the basic items to run your online business – a homepage, contact/enquiry form, description of your business, product information etc. This is similar to you setting up an office where you need table, chair, computer, meeting room… the standard items to run your business. It might not be most fancy office but the furniture design are not the one that gets you the sales – unless you are IKEA.
